POETRY RECITATION COMPETITION IN CTPS

C T Public School organised Inter House Poetry Recitation Competition for classes IV -VIII based on various themes like humour, satire etc. The students recited wonderful poems which left the judges and the audience spellbound.In the English Poetry Recitation Competition, Sakshi from Rose House bagged the first position, Joyana from Marigold stood second followed by Gulkirat Kaur from Jasmine House.

In the Hindi Recitation Competition, Suhas from Lotus House bagged the first position while Pragati and Samarth Sharma from Rose House bagged the second and third positions respectively. Rose House was the overall winner of the competition.The Principal, Mrs. Suman Rana and Vice Principal, Mr Gurteg Singh Saini applauded the performance of the students and encouraged all the students to take part in such competitions for their holistic development.

EXTEMPORE COMPETITION ORGANIZED IN CT PUBLIC SCHOOL

 An Inter House Extempore Competition was organized in CT Public School for the juniors as well as the senior students. Extempore is an impromptu speech that is delivered with little or no preparation. As an extempore is spontaneous, it requires great effort to deliver it successfully. The most important aspect of extempore is that it helps in the enhancement of communication skills. The core idea of the extempore speech is to gather & articulate all the thoughts that come to the mind in an innovative way and present them in a well organized manner- all within the span of a minute. An Impromptu Speech reflects on the effective communication skills of the speakers. Where command over good language accompanied with fluency and confidence of the speaker is tested.

“Extempore is indeed the art of diluting two minute idea with a two hour vocabulary”

Our students from grade IV to XII put on their thinking hats and braved up to accept the challenge to deliver impromptu speech. To give maximum opportunity sixteen students were selected from each house after preliminary rounds held in the classes On the crisp Saturday  morning all the participants dressed in their House uniform were all ready to set the ball rolling.

The orators articulated their thoughts on various topics in a very expressive manner before the audience. The students had to speak on various topics related to environment, technology, health, moral values, ambition and many more. There were two categories. The junior category comprised of participants from grade IV-VIII while the senior category had students from IX-XII.  In the junior category Jiya of Marigold house bagged the first position. The second place was bagged by Suhani of Rose House and the third position was bagged by Rajwinder Mattu of Jasmine House. In the senior category the first position was bagged by Navdeep  Kaur of Rose House while the second position was bagged by Pragya of Lotus House and the third position was bagged by Ananya Sachdeva  and  Diya of Jasmine House.  The overall winner of the competition was Rose House in the senior category while Marigold House was the winner in the junior category.The competitors were adjudged by Mrs. Monika Aggarwal, Coordinator and Mrs Harpreet  Panesar,  H.O. D. English Department . The children were judged on the content of the topic, confidence, fluency and pronunciation. The competition was chaired by the Vice Principal of the School, Mr. Gurteg Singh Saini. He congratulated the winners and motivated the students to participate in various activities which are beneficial for development of one’s personality.

FESTIVITIES IN CTPS

 CT Public School was exuberant with activities which marked the day on the auspicious occasion of Baisakhi, Ram Navami and the birthday of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. A special assembly was organized which began with the invocation to the Almighty by chanting the Gayatri Mantra, followed by a speech to edify the children about the contribution of 

Dr. B. R. Ambedkar in drafting the Indian Constitution, which embodies our rights and duties towards the country as Indian nationals. Then, the students were acquainted with the life and teachings of Lord Rama on the occasion of Ram Navami. 

The students were also enriched with the knowledge of the importance of Baisakhi and paid their tributes to the victims of the tragic incident of Jallianwala Bagh which took place on 13th April in 1919, in which thousands of innocent people were massacred on the behest of General Dyre. The children were empowered with the knowledge of the inception of the Khalsa Panth by Guru Gobind Singh on 13th April in 1699. It was followed by Bhangra to commemorate the harvest season and filled the atmosphere with mirth and jubilations. 

Later during the day, the Heritage Club comprising of students of grade X visited the Gurudwara at Mission Chowk to pay their obeisance to the Almighty Lord. The students of Grades I- V exhibited the artistic skills in slogan writing expressing their fervor and sentiments for their religion. The students of grades VI-VIII wrote poems while the students of class IX wrote poems on the importance of the Constitution and the role of the drafting committee. 

The Principal of CT Public School, Mrs. Suman Rana and Vice Principal Mr. Gurteg Singh Saini congratulated the students on this festive occasion and exhorted them to imbibe the teachings of Lord Rama and Guru Gobind Singh in their lives and should respect all the religions.

Visit to Apahaj Ashram

 

Keeping in mind the dictum that Charity begins a home,  CT Group of Institutions, in its endeavour to help & nourish the underprivileged, made a righteous gesture by giving donations to the Apahaj Ashram & to the Prayas School, Jalandhar.
Students from all the institutions of the CT Group [ of Shahpur Campus ] handed over Cheques to Mr. Tarsem Kapur, Chairman of the Apahaj Ashram, Jalandhar.
After this, students of the CT Group [ of Maqsudan Campus ] handed over Cheques to Mr. Vivek Sood, Vice Principal of the Prayas School, Jalandhar.
 
 
In this humble venture, the CT Group was supported by some individuals as well, for which the Chairman, Mr. Charanjit Singh Channi as well as the Managing Director, Mr. Manbir Singh; thanked everyone. The MD said, “ We want to make a difference in the lives of the have-nots of the society & this is just a humble endeavour on our part to do something for them.”

Mother Teacher Award to honour the teachers of Kindergarten students

 Striding on the truthful fact “Every teacher is a first Mother,” CT Group of Institutions organizes Mother Teacher Award to honour the teachers of Kindergarten students. The prestigious award ceremony was held at CT Maqsudan Campus for CT Kindergarten students. For the award ceremony, 30 teachers were shortlisted, based on their performance and Institutional evaluation criteria. The teachers gathered from Kindergarten (Adarsh Nagar), Daffodils Kindergarten (Gopal Nagar), Shivalik Playway (S.U.S Nagar), Dreamland Playway (Maqsudan) and others. 
The event was inaugurated with a lamp lighting ceremony by S. Charanjit Singh Channi (Chairman, CT Group of Institutions) and Mr. Manbir Singh (Managing Director, CT Group of Institutions). They felicitated all the teachers present on this occasion and honoured them with a title of Best Mother Teacher awarding them a certificate and Memento recognizing their contribution to the teaching profession. They also awarded Mrs. Harkanwal Kaur (Teacher at CT Kindergarten) with a Special award from S. Charanjit Singh Channi (Chairman, CT Group of Institutions) for her contribution into the educational field.
The awarded teachers on the occasion shared their teaching experiences with each other during informal lunch at the culmination of the event.


Speaking on the occasion, Mrs. Harkanwal Kaur described the role of a teacher as that of nation builders and true role models for students. She said, “Being felicitated with Mother Teacher Award is an honour. As we all know that Teachers are Moms, Psychologists, Nurses and Magical Unicons. All rolled for into a pay check that will make a sweet shop worker call HR.”
Mr. Manbir SIngh (Managing Director, CT Group of Institutions) further added that we at CT Group of Institutions being educationists understand and laud the important role that the teachers play in the overall development of the society. S. Charanjit Singh Channi (Chairman, CT Group of Institutions) expressed his gratitude to all the teachers present on this occasion. He said, “Such awards not only appreciate their work but their profession as well. These awards helps to give them due recognition in the society. We have been honouring teachers of different states with Best Teacher Award of Schools and Colleges and now we have Mother Teacher Award to felicitate the teachers at Kindergarten schools.”

Prateek Shinde has brought kudos for the school in the field of self defence

 Prateek Shinde has brought kudos for the school in the field of self defence. He bagged a gold medal in the 1st GKSI all India Karate Championship 2015 – 16 held at Sheetla Mata Mandir Parisar, Sundarnagar, district Mandi Himachal Pradesh from 8th January to 10thJanuary 2016 in Kumite Event for colour belt in the 48 kg weight category and secured the first position.

Another feather was placed on his cap when he had bagged a gold medal in the Kick Light event and bagged a bronze medal in light contact event organized by National Kickboxing Federation N.G. WAKO India from 17th to 21st February, 2016 at Talkotra Stadium, New Delhi in the 51 kg category for 15-18 years boys.

Christmas celebrations in CT Kindergarten

 Christmas festival was celebrated by the CT Kindergarten students. The programme was followed by a dance and Christmas carols. Students said that Christmas festival truly depicts the essence of love, joy and peace.

 

 

Mrs. Ranjana Rajput (Principal, CT Public School) informed the students about the birth of Jesus Christ and motivated the students to spread the message of Jesus Christ, “Love each and every person” in their life.S. Charanjit Singh Channi (Chairman, CT Group of Institutions), Mrs. Parminder Kaur Channi (Co-Chairperson, CT Group of Institutions) and Mr. Manbir Singh (Managing Director, CT Group of Institutions) celebrated the event with the students and the members of the staff. CT Public School wins 3rd Sardarni Manjit Kaur Memorial Cricket Tournament

 Shivalik Model Senior Secondary School, Nangal won the runners-up trophy of the tournament.  The top two winners were felicitated with the prizes of worth Rs. 31,000 and Rs. 21,000 respectively. Defending their winning title, CT Public School has once again won the Champions trophy of the Sardarni Manjit Kaur Memorial Cricket Tournament for the third consecutive year. The runners-up trophy was won by Shivalik Model Senior Secondary School, Nangal in the third season of this five days tournament organized by CT Public School at the Shahpur Campus of CT Group of Institutions. The trophy of Man of the Series and Man of the Match was won by Damandeep Singh, Best Bowler by Gaurav Chaudhary of CT and Best Wicket-Keeper by Karan Rajput of from the winning CT Public School team and Best Batsman by Vishesh of Shivalik Model Senior Secondary School, Nangal. The umpires for the final match were Mr. Anurag Bhardwaj and Mr. Jawahar Lal from Punjab Cricket Association (PCA). The Commentator was Mr. Chetan Sondhi and Official Scorer was Mr. Arsh Trehan. In the final match, CT Public School won the toss and chooses to bat first. The team scored 201 runs in 20 overs while opponent team Shivalik Model Senior Secondary School, Nangal could not beat the total and loose the match by scoring only 108 runs on the loss of 7 wickets. The top scorer of the match includes Damandeep Singh from the winning team; he scored 75 runs and Jasvir Singh (48) and Karan Rajput (27) from CT Public School and from Shivalik Model Senior Secondary School, Nangal Vishesh scored 53 runs and Ravikant scored 16 runs. In the bowling section, Deepak and Akhil took two wickets of Shivalik Model Senior Secondary School, Nangal while from CT Public School Dimple took three and Jasvir took 2 wickets. 


The Chief Guest of the closing ceremony was S. Charanjit Singh Channi (Chairman, CT Group of Institutions), Mr. Manbir Singh (Managing Director, CT Group of Institutions) and Mrs. Ranjana Rajput (Principle, CT Public School). The dignitaries felicitated the winners, best performers in different aspects and runners-up team of the tournament. The closing ceremony had March past by the participating team, Salutation, final events & Medal ceremony followed by speech by the Chief Guests of the event. Mr. Manbir Singh (Managing Director, CT Group of Institutions) said that stressed on the importance of games and sports activities in our life. He also congratulated the players for their remarkable attempts. He said, “It was a successful and memorable event for the students.”
S. Charanjit Singh Channi (Chairman, CT Group of Institutions) congratulated the winners and performers of the tournament. He also thanked the participating teams for their remarkable performances at the event.

4th All India & 20th International UCMAS Abacus & Mental Arithmetic Comp

 4th All India & 20th International UCMAS Abacus & Mental Arithmetic Competition – 2015 was held in Delhi University in which around 10,000 students participated. It is a matter of great pride that Pranav Kapoor of II-B got II Runners Up Trophy in International Level & Merit certificate in National Level and Divyansh Kapoor of V-A got Third Runners Up Trophy in International Level & Merit certificate in National Level. Mera Talent Meri Pehchan

 CT Public School hosted a talent hunt competition called Mera Talent Meri Pehchan in the school campus organized by Daksh Creations and Cannary Tones. Many children gave their auditions for participating in this competition which would be presented on ZEE Punjabi Channel. Children from various classes participated in this competition and presented their talent in dancing, singing, martial arts etc. The Principal Mrs. Ranjana Rajput and Vice Principal Mr. Gurteg Singh Saini congratulated the winners for their wonderful performance and urged all the students to participate in various competitions as every child has been blessed with some talent which should be tapped and groomed well.

Auditions by 92.7 BIG FM

 It was a proud moment for CT Public School when Sarabjit Singh, a student of Grade VIII was selected in the top five contestants at an audition conducted by 92.7 Big FM. Initially many students had participated in the audition and the top four students were selected for the studio round. In this round, these students had to compete with the children from other schools. Six best children from different schools were selected in which Sarabjit Singh was one of them.

These children recorded their programme and which are being aired on BIG FM. They have to make vote appeals for their victory in the competition. The winner will get an opportunity to host the programme on BIG 92.7 FM. The Principal Mrs. Ranjana Rajput and Vice Principal Mr. Gurteg Singh Saini congratulated the wonderful performance of the child and urged the students to vote for him.
