Inspired by the innovative vision (AIM) of our esteemed Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi ji, the Niti Aayog proposed to establish Atal Tinkering Labs in the selected schools across India. Adding another feather to its cap, CT Public School received a grant from Niti Ayog (Govt. of India) to set up an ATL laboratory under the scheme of Atal Innovation Mission (AIM). The school is one of the very few schools of Punjab which have the privilege of setting-up ATL lab within its premises. It was a great honor and privilege that Mr.Manbir Singh, Managing Director, CT Public School inaugurated the much awaited Atal Tinkering Lab in the school premises on April 11, 2019. ATL aims at fostering curiosity, creativity and imagination in young minds and inculcate skills such as design mindset, computational thinking, adaptive learning etc. For achieving this, students innovative ideas are channelized under expert guidance, into creating efficient and innovative solution to recurring local problems. CT Public School inaugurates the Atal Tinkering Lab by organizing State Championship on Robotics on May 2, 2019. 150 students from various schools across Punjab participated. Our School won first prize of Robo Race Championship. In this, 150 students from various schools across region namely Punjab Public School(Nabha), Path Seekers (Beas), MGN School(Jalandhar), CT World (Jalandhar), Cambridge International School(Patti), CT Public School (Jalandhar), Delhi Public School (Jalandhar), GMA Public School (Hoshiarpur), Doaba Public School etc participated. Out of these, CT Public School bagged the first position. Along with the championship, a two day inter school workshop was also organized to make students aware about advanced technology in the field of Robotics.
CTPS offers opportunities for the children to count, group, make patterns tell time, measure, explore shapes and handle various other math manipulations. Various math aids help in conducting developmental activities.
Mathematics is no longer an abstract subject dealing with symbols, notations and formulae, what with the introduction of the MATH LAB concept by the CBSE. CTPS has been a pioneer in the setting up of a Math lab with the desired physical infrastructure, teaching materials and human resources. Here a right ambience for learning the subject has been created by providing students with the opportunity to explore mathematical concepts, verify facts and prove theorems through activities and experimentation. A great deal of emphasis is laid on hands-on activities and project work so that students can relate class room deliberations to real life situations. In the Math lab, students become autonomous learners.
The Math lab at CTPS is fully equipped with mathematical models, geometrical instruments, charts, graphs, pictures, posters and other associated materials. Students perform activities using simple but relevant techniques such as paper cutting, folding, pasting to discover geometrical properties and verify mathematical formulae. The teachers too use these concrete objects to demonstrate and reinforce abstract concepts.
Set up with the ultimate aim of facilitating cognition by providing scope for greater involvement of both the mind and the hand, the Math lab allows and encourages students to think, discuss and assimilate abstract concepts in a more effective manner. Two periods of Math lab per week is allocated in the time-table and students look forward to this with a great deal of enthusiasm as it is here that they are able to correlate the theory class with practical work.
In the computer lab of CTPS, children are able to explore, solve problems, develop concepts on various topics, improve language, interact socially and develop sensory skills. We have a well set of Computer Lab. where one computer for each student is accessible in practical class. Students are encouraged to browse the Net for preparing the projects. Computer forms an important part of the curriculum from Grade I where students are taught how to use computer skills.
Technological skills are provided to students within the context of the curriculum. In the computer lab of CTPS, children are able to explore, develop concepts on various topics, interact socially and develop sensory skills.
Our Science lab are the true learning source where we keep fairly enough stock of the apparatuses and tools required to perform the experiments under the supervision of intellectual teachers.
The Chemistry Lab is well equipped and designed. To enhance its utility labs are provided with the state- of- art devices like Fire fighting equipments, First- Aid Kit etc.
A well designed Biology Lab equipped with all modern facilities and required specimens including the Microscopes compatible with high resolution digital camera.
The Physics Lab is well lit & ventilated equipped with all the latest equipments/ apparatus to enable the students to perform the practicals of Light, Heat, Sound, Electricity & Magnetism.
