Jul 17, 2016CT Public School believes in imparting wide knowledge to the students and helps them to understand beyond their books. Around 50 students were taken for an educational trip to Jalandhar’s Pholriwal Water Treatment Plant to give them first-hand knowledge about the importance of water and how it is purified. They learnt that the processed water was being used for irrigation and construction of buildings.
Water is a precious gift from God and the hub of life on this planet. It is indispensable for human health and well-being; there can be no life on Earth without water. In fact, the human body is composed of 70% water. However, due to modernization, water is polluted to a great extent. The water level is rapidly going down and the little water that is available is unfit for consumption as the selfish human beings are dumping the home and factory waste into it.
Therefore, the same water can harm your body if not purified. Unfiltered water contains chlorine, fluoride, dioxins, parasites, etc. those could be hazardous to your health. . A number of water borne diseases like diarrheal disease, Hepatitis A, Cholera, Botulism, Typhoid, Dysentry kill thousands of people all over the world.
To be clean, water should undergo a number of treatments necessary to make it drinkable. The team from CT Public School learnt about the causes of water pollution and how it could be treated for consumption and also pledged to save water.

The Investiture ceremony of CT Public School for the academic session 2016-17 was held in a special ceremony. The event was presided by the Chairman of CT Groups of Institutions, Mr. Charanjit Singh Channi, the School Principal Mrs. Suman Rana and the Vice Principal Mr. Gurteg Singh Saini. It was conducted with a high degree of sincerity and enthusiasm. The Investiture Ceremony denotes investment in being leaders and the trust and confidence reposed in the newly invested office bearers for the involvement of the students’ community in day to day functioning of the school, since we believe in child centric approach. The ceremony was held with lots of enthusiasm and gusto. It was initiated with a prayer followed by a motivational song by our students. The students had been nominated by the House Incharges on the basis of discipline, academics and behavior so that they could be role models to their fellow mates. They had to face an interview to be selected for the various designations. Our newly elected student council took an oath in front of the whole school to be true to their posts and duties assigned to them.
Srishti Gupta has been designated as the General Secretary. Manmeet Singh has been selected the Head Boy while the School Head Girl is Navdeep Kaur. Ankit has been elected as the School Vice Head Boy while Manika Bawa has been chosen as the School Vice Head Girl. The Activity Captain (Boys) is Abhinav Madaan and the Activity Captain (Girls) is Ishanika. Kaniksh Bhatia and Pardeep Kaur have been elected as School Sports Captain (Boys / Girls). Mr. Charanjit Singh Channi inducted the students to their posts and inspired them to be good leaders. In his address he said that leadership is based on inspiration not domination; on cooperation, not intimidation. Great leaders don’t set out to be leaders; they set out to make a difference. It’s never about the role but always about the goal. A true leader has the confidence to stand alone, the courage to make tough decisions, and the compassion to listen to the needs of others. He does not set out to be a leader, but becomes one by the quality of his actions and the integrity of his intent. The Principal and Vice Principal congratulated the new student council and their parents and teachers and motivated them to move on the path of righteousness, brotherhood & goodwill.
Terrorism has become a serious problem all over the world. It is a global issue which has affected almost all the nations throughout the world directly or indirectly. The terrorists never compromise with anyone and look for soft targets like kids, women and old people to coerce the government to fulfil their demands. An incident of a terrorist attack in a school in Pakistan last year, the Paris tragedy and the Pathankot episode sent a wave of shock and resentment across the world. C T Public School practised a mock terror drill lest such an untoward incident takes place.
The children were trained to face a mock terrorist attack. They were briefed about the techniques to combat such an attack With the ringing of the school siren, the students rushed to close the doors and windows and placed class furniture at the doors to debar the intruders to enter. Then they hid beneath the desks placed near the walls and observed complete silence. They were taught to maintain their calm and compose during an emergency and face the dire circumstances with bravery.
