BIOPLASTICS.......A SUSTAINABLE MATERIAL REVOLUTION

 

 

 

 

 

Plastics have become an important part of modern life and are used in different sectors of applications like packaging, building materials, consumer products and much more. But plastics are proving to be a major environmental pollution.They are a significant source of environmental pollution, potentially harming life. So In an effort to overcome these shortcomings, CTians have long been seeking to develop biodegradable plastics that are made from renewable resources,such as plants.

 


The students of CT participated in the Science exhibition held at Sh.Guru Harkrishan Public Senior Secondary School,Amritsar on 19th and 20th November,2019.Nishant Marwaha and Divyam Seth prepared a project on Bioplastics,under the guidance of Mr.Sanjesh Kumar,their science teacher. They explained how Biodegradable plastics or bioplastics are derived from corn, wheat and potato starch. They also expounded that Biodegradable plastic products have physical and chemical properties similar to those of traditional plastics, but it is completely biodegradable in different environments, just like pure cellulose. They stated ,”the main aim of our project is to develop materials and packaging that will add zero pollution to our environmental footprint, and ideally, will be climate-neutral. One of the most promising innovations in sustainable material production is the development of bio-based plastics which to keep clean our world for the next generation.”

World Soil Day

*World Soil Day (WSD) is held annually on 5 December as a means to focus attention on the importance of healthy soil and advocating for the sustainable management of soil resources.*

*Soil is a finite natural resource which is non-renewable on a human time-scale. However, despite the essential role that soil plays for human livelihoods, worldwide there is increasing degradation of soil resources.*

 

 

 

 

So today to boost this initiative and to improve the soil quality *CT Public School* has taken an initiative to make a compost pit to improve the quality of soil in which the students of class Fifth adorable participated with full zeal and confidence to which the Principal Mr Daljeet Rana and Vice-Principal Mrs Sukhdeep Kaur motivated the students to turn the determination and do some action to save the mother earth..and to be the solution to soil pollution.

Birthday Celebrations

Harshveer ,Harjaap (2nd Achievers)and Sukhneet of class( Third Achievers) were very happy and contented today. They celebrated their birthday in a unique manner. They
did something constructive for themselves as well as for the planet. They planted saplings. They said, they will ensure it grows into full-fledged tree and take care of it.

 

 

Principal Mr Daljeet Rana said, "Trees are indispensable for human survival. Millions of trees are cut every month. If it continues like this, soon we won’t have any tree left on the planet". Vice-Principal Mrs Sukhdeep Kaur added, "I feel all of us must plant trees on our birthday. This will help in maintaining the ecological balance".

Poetical Recitation Competition

 Poetry is a deal of joy and pain and wonder, with a dash of the dictionary’

CT Public School believes in instilling the taste for literature, reading and writing, to initiate an ability to express feelings through literary art i.e Poetry A Poem Recitation competition was conducted in grade III Achievers as a classroom activity . Students displayed their interest in English Poetry by reciting poems. Ayan Aftab Alam got 1st position, Yashika Bhagat got 2nd position and Sukhneet Kaur got 3rd position. Students were awarded with books to as a token of encouragement.The Principal Mr.Daljeet Singh Rana and Vice Principal Mrs.Sukhdeep Kaur highly appreciated the effort and motivated other students and added ‘Poetry is a mirror which makes beautiful that which is distorted.’

Indian Navy Day

 Lets Celebrate With Pride The Service Rendered To The Nation By Our Fearless And Selfless Warriors To The Men In White- INDIAN NAVY

CT Public School observed Indian Navy Day today. Navy Day in India is celebrated on 4 December every year to recognize the achievements and role of the Indian Navy to the country. It was on that day in 1971, during Operation Trident, the Indian Navy sank four Pakistani vessels including PNS Khaibar, killing hundreds of Pakistani Navy personnel.On this day, those killed in the Indo-Pakistan War of 1971 are also remembered.
Today, observance of Navy Day shows India's naval strength. We are safe because we have our Navy keeping us protected each and every moment…. CT Public School salutes our Navy and extends best wishes on Indian Navy Day.
On this special occasion, Captain Karamjit Singh, addressed the students about the indomitable courage, dauntlessness and heroic services of the Naval Officers. He also discussed about a lucrative career in Indian Navy and Merchant Navy. Captain Karamjit Singh had joined Merchant Navy in 1997 and became a Captain in 2010. At present, he is sailing as a master mariner. Under the programme of Parents Ki Pathshala, Captain Karamjit Singh, father of Viraj Singh, (grade 2) counselled the children and shared his experiences about the prospects in Indian Navy.
Principal, Mr. Daljeet Singh and Vice Principal, Mrs. Sukhdeep Kaur presented a token of appreciation to the guest and motivated the children to pursue a career in Navy.

Felicitations to CT Alumni Kritika Aggarwal

Kritika Aggarwal, The Alumni of CT Public School, Jalandhar , has recently been awarded in Kochi by the deligates of Hyatt from Chicago. She has been awarded for her excellent skills in doing something extra mile for the guests. She used her creativity in making the guest experiences the best and memorable. Her care for the guests is outstanding. She also shared, “She’s really grateful that she spent her childhood with us as she’s learnt a lot.” We are proud that she recognised that the purpose of CTPS is all about care for the people around.

Birthday Celebrations

 "Trees exhale for us so that we can inhale them to stay alive. Can we ever forget that? Let us love trees with every breath we take until we perish."

CT Public School has set a tradition of celebrating birthday by planting a plant to save mother Nature. Same tradition was continued by our children Satya of grade III and Khushi of grade IV. They celebrated their birthday by planting a sapling. The Principal Mr.Daljeet Singh Rana highly appreciated the concern of students and congratulated them with blessings for brighter future.

Felicitations to the parents of Ekamnoor and Hartaj

Parents are true assets for any institution.
Parents of Ekamnoor from grade 8 Achievers and Hartaj from 1st Achievers are honored for their immense support in the Virasat-e- Pardarshani Exhibition held in Sultanpur Lodhi on 550th birth anniversary of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji. The Principal Mr. Daljeet Singh and Vice Principal Mrs. Sukhdeep kaur congratulated the proud parents and honoured them by giving a small token of gratitude .
The Principal further added that Parents involvement in education is crucial. No matter their income or background, students with involved parents are more likely to have higher grades and test scores, attend school regularly, have better social skills, show improved behavior, and adapt well to school.

Fitness Week

IF THE BODY IS FIT, MIND IS A HIT-Shri Narendra Modi

CT Public School was felicitated today with Fit India "Certificate of Recognition" by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports under the Government of India. CT Public School has declared itself as a Fit School and it is a matter of immense pride that the school can use the Fit India Flag and Logo.

 

 

It is well said that " A Healthy Mind Dwells In A Healthy Body ".The Prime Minister of India Mr. Narendra Modi had launched the " FIT INDIA MOVEMENT " at Indira Gandhi Stadium in New Delhi .Fit India Movement is a nationwide movement that encourages people to stay healthy and fit by incorporating physical activities and sports into their daily lives.
CBSE has decided to celebrate Fitness week in all the CBSE schools .The prime objective of the program is to indulge school children in active field time than passive screen time. Keeping this in view special assemblies were conducted in CT Public School where students performed many physical activities. Students were made aware about the advantages of good health. Apart from this, various activities like Yoga, debate, cooking without fire, lectures by Sports Psychologists, poster making, aerobics and poetry recitation were conducted in a week long programme. These activities received an overwhelming response from students and teachers.

 

The Principal of CTPS Mr.Daljeet Singh and Vice Principal Mrs. Sukhdeep Kaur encouraged the students as well as the staff members to adopt good eating habits and asked them to devote some time to physical activities to keep themselves fit and healthy because a Fit Indian Can Make India Fit.

Calling for ‘Nashe Ton Azadi’ (Freedom from Drugs), ‘Tu Mera Buddy’ programme has been launched at CT Public School to take the war against drugs to school students. specialAssembly was conducted and the students were called upon to take a pledge on this momentous occasion to wipeout the menace of drugs from the state to secure the healthy future of the coming generation.

National Constitution Day

Special assembly was conducted in CT Public School to make students aware about Constitution Day (National Law Day),which is also known as ‘ Samvidhan Divas’. It is celebrated in India on 26 November every year to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution of India. On 26 November 1949, the Constituent Assembly of India adopted the Constitution of India, and it came into effect on 26 January 1950. CTPS faculty Mr.Nitin enlightened students about the background of the day and its importance..
The Principal Mr.Daljeet Singh Rana and Vice Principal Mrs.Sukhdeep Kaur appreciated an initiative and added such interaction not only develop awareness but also ignite the feeling of proud of being citizens of world's strongest democratic country.

We all know how trees help Earth in purifying the air and absorbing the carbon from the atmosphere. We all must plant trees on every possible occasion.Why not celebrate birthdays by planting birthday tree and see your birthday tree growing as you grow. Keeping this idea in mind Cherry Sondhi of Class VI Adorable took an initiative to make her birthday memorable.She planted a beautiful sapling on her birthday in the beautiful garden of CTPS . The Principal Mr.Daljeet Singh Rana ,Vice Principal Mrs.Sukhdeep Kaur and all the team members appreciated her effort and wished her a bright future ahead.

Annual Sports Day

 CT Public School organised AnnualSportsMeet upholding the aspect of sporting events.  It was a day filled with fervor and excitement, in the sprawling and lush green environment of school.

Induction Program

Language is a primary source of communication. It is the method through which we share our ideas and thoughts with others. Several factors make the English language essential to communicate in our current time, as it is the most common foreign language.Everyone needs to learn English language in order to get in touch on an international level. Speaking it well helps you to communicate with people from countries  all over the world. English is very essential in the field of education. Children are taught and encouraged to learn English as many syllabi are written in English.Most of the researches and studies you find in any specific field will be written in it as well.
 
 
 
A special seminar to empower the English department of CT was conducted by passionate educators of Cambridge English. They familiarized the teachers about the global standards of English. Mr Sukhbir Singh, Ms Neha and Ms.Meenu elaborated that Cambridge English is a' not for profit' department of University of #Cambridge which has hundred years of expertise in English language assessment and is designed to develop practical English language communication skills and is also accepted by more than 15000 organisations worldwide with a wide range of resources. Principal Mr #Daljeet SinghRana and Vice Principal Mrs Sukhdeep Kaur gave the assurance to make professional ties with them to further upgrade the skills of their students in English.

Planting a sapling is a tradition in the CTPS and to proceed the same Ms. Chetna Grover  Librarian, Mr. Saurav from Computer Department and Mr. Amit Security officer on their birthdays planted  beautiful saplings in school premises .The Principal Mr.Daljeet Singh Rana and Vice Principal Mrs. Sukhdeep kaur appreciated the initiative taken by the faculty of CTPS and congratulated them on their  special day.

Music Competition

 ‘ Music is an expression of individuality; it's how you see the world. All art is, for that matter. You take how you experience the world, interpret it, and send it out there - express it - whether it's sculpture, dance or singing.’

Dance is a performing art form consisting of having aesthetic and symbolic values and is acknowledged as dance by performers and observers within a particular culture. It teaches the importance of movement and fitness in a variety of ways through a variety of disciplines. As well, dancers learn to coordinate muscles to move through proper positions. Dancing is a great activity to pursue at almost any age provided you are in proper health to handle the rigors of dancing for life.
 
 
 
The shinning star Atinder Kaur of Grade V, CT Public School  has participated in an event organized by Satyug Darshan  Sangeet Kala Kendra held in DAVIET, Jalandhar and received a token of participation. 
The Principal Mr.Daljeet Singh Rana and Vice Principal Mrs.Sukhdeep Kaur highly appraised the efforts done by HOD Music and Dance Ms. Kiran Sharma and Mr.Vimal Passi dance teacher. The Principal also congratulated Atinder Kaur for her outstanding performance and added that ‘When you dance, your purpose is not to get to a certain place on the floor. It's to enjoy each step along the way.’

Visit to CT University

 Visit to Robotics Lab CT University Robotics Lab is a perfect outlet for students as robotics is in the forefront of technology. It helps in improving schools digital equity and economic development. It is an effective medium to pique student's interest in STEM fields. It helps in inculcates 'Practical way of learning' which contributes to the enhancement of students thinking process. 

A group of 30 students accompanied by 3 teachers visited Robotics Lab. of CT University, Ludhiana.
The purpose of visit is to promote and enhance students understanding of the culture of science and technology and to foster a spirit of scientific enquiry and creativity among the students.
 
 
 
 
Mr. Harmeet Singh, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science demonstrated the projects on Robotics to the students like Smart T-shirt, smart Shoes, Robotics Hand, Hover craft, Artificial Bird etc.  Basics of Arduino programming was taught to the students. Budding learners were taken on a tour of the Robotics Lab. where they were fascinated to see the mind boggling scientific activities. The working of a 3D printer were also showcased to them.  
Students learnt advanced set of building blocks which can be used as tools for building simulated real-world situations. The students can then carry out a variety of tasks which are defined for the robots and thus gain a very hands-on insight while doing such exercises. 
The visit proved to be a massive success as it not only quenched the thirst of minds but also brought enticing smiles on the faces of children. 
The Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Harsh Sadawarti, stated that now this is the era of Science and technology, so students should be well aware of new technologies and Atal Tinkering Lab is a way of bringing paradigm shift in education by providing the students enriching scientific skills.

Inter District Hindi Essay Writing Competition

An Inter District Hindi Essay Writing competition was organized by Shri Harishchandar Nistander Smruti Committee for 10th and 11th class students. It was conducted on 28th June 2019 in the remembrance of Shri Harishchandar Nistander 's 108th birthday .
In this competition near about 110 participants participated actively. A topic was given for essay writing "Bharat Vishav guru kaise bane?"
 
Students expressed their views and ideas in their writing. Abhimanyu Singh a proud student of CTPS  from grade XI  bagged 3rd cash prize for showing his excellence in writing skills .
The Principal Mr.Daljeet Singh Rana and Vice Principal Mrs. Sukhdeep Kaur congratulated  Abhimanyu Singh and H.O.D Hindi Mrs.Neetu Seth for their efforts and for bringing laurels to the school.The Principal awarded the student with certificate and further added that in the school now students are expressing their views and ideas and they are aware about their right role and responsibilities.

Visit to Science City

With an aim to inculcate scientific approach among students, an innovation hub has been set up at #Science  City,Kapurthala which is a  boon to society.
Students of  CT PUBLIC SCHOOL were taken to  innovation hub,Science City to develop their scientific mindset and to channelise their potential to nurture the  scientific talent. The Principal ,Mr.Daljeet Rana stated that  in the modern era, innovative and creative minds dominate since they bring desired results to make complex processes simple, easy and economical. Only innovative ideas can lead to new products, technologies, opportunities and ensure sustainable growth. It is imperative to provide solutions to their raw ideas which are more systematic and technically firm.
 
 
 
 
CTians  visited fun science gallery,worked on assembly of EV3 Mindstorm ,sensors - smoke sensors, color sensors, ultrasonic sensors, touch sensor etc.The courious minds showed an overwhelming response at learning new scientific concepts.
